The Weiyuan Shale Gas Field (WSGF)

The WSGF located in the southern Sichuan Basin with intense seismicity due to hydraulic fracturing since mid-2015. 
By far, 8 :math:`M\geq 4.0` events with maximum magnitude of :math:`M_w5.0` occurred and lead to severe damge to local residents and facilities. 
However, the triggering mechanism of these damaging earthquakes remain elusive, exerting challenges to earthquake hazard mitigation.
